Entertainment Partners Becomes Patron of UK’s Royal Television Society-Camera operator and actor on set

Entertainment Partners is pleased to announce its official Patronage of the UK’s Royal Television Society (RTS), a leading educational charity dedicated to promoting the art and science of television.

EP has a long commitment of partnering with the UK industry to provide meaningful training opportunities and nurture the next generation of talent. With this Patronage, EP will support the vital work of the RTS to open up the UK television industry and ensure aspiring production professionals have the skills they need to thrive.

Royal Television Society

With more than 4.000 members, the RTS provides a variety of training schemes to upskill aspiring production professionals, as well as Masterclass sessions which bring together professionals from all areas of the TV industry and RTS Public Lectures where global industry leaders speak on developments in the television industry.

The RTS also offers two pioneering bursary schemes to help students from low-income backgrounds get a foothold in the television industry: the Digital Innovation Bursary and the TV Production and Journalism Bursary.

Since launching the bursary programme in 2013, the RTS has sponsored more than 370 students, with 82% of graduates finding employment in the entertainment industry. Applications for the 2025 bursaries are open now until Tuesday 24 June.

To champion young professionals as they transition into the workforce, the RTS also offers networking and educational opportunities through its RTS Futures programme and annual Careers Fair, the latter of which connects industry entrants with film and television’s biggest employers.

Supporting the next generation of production accounting professionals

EP has been a long-time supporter of the RTS through its company FLB Accountants. This included contributing to the RTS’s one-of-a-kind Mini MBA programme, which launched in 2024. This CPD-accredited course offers current industry professionals and those looking to kickstart a media career a unique opportunity to broaden their skillset and achieve their goals.

The Mini MBA covers four main strands: Industry Context, Programme Making, Business Functions and Future Outlook. With 24 modules and 80 hours of interactive learning, tudents gain valuable insight on a number of topics, including how a television programme is developed, commissioned, and made; how finances and funding work within the TV industry; and how the UK TV landscape is likely to change over the next five to 10 years.

EP was delighted to support the course’s Production Accounting module by providing subject matter expertise with practical insights on a number of production accounting topics and by validating the scope of the course to ensure those looking to enter or further their career in production accounting have the tools they need to be successful.

An ongoing commitment to the UK industry

Through its Patronage of the RTS and other UK organisations, EP is committed to supporting UK production by equipping industry professionals from all backgrounds and at all levels with the opportunities they need to succeed.

Diverse talent both in front of and behind the camera strengthen the global entertainment industry. With this Patronage, EP is delighted to support the RTS in creating essential opportunities for underrepresented groups to begin a career in entertainment, providing pathways to the industry for low-income students and empowering those working to make an impact in television.
