Delaware is launching a paid family medical leave program funded by employer and employee contributions. Contributions begin on January 1, 2025, and eligible employees can begin applying for benefits on January 1, 2026.

Delaware is launching a paid family medical leave program funded by employer and employee contributions. Contributions begin on January 1, 2025, and eligible employees can begin applying for benefits on January 1, 2026. Delaware’s program provides a combination of benefits and up to 6-12 weeks of job protection for participating employees, depending on the particular qualifying reason. The combined contribution rate for employers with at least 25 employees is 0.8% of wages split up to 50/50 between employee and employer, respectively.
