While benefits are unavailable until January 2022, paycheck deductions to fund Connecticut’s state paid family leave program began on January 1, 2021. The deduction rate is 0.5% percent of total wages capped at the social security wage limit ($142,800 - 2021). As with other paid family leave statutes, payment for Connecticut’s paid family leave program also is the responsibility of the common law employer (production organization) in control of the worker’s hiring and scheduling. EP has operationalized the paycheck deduction timely to assist client productions.
