Screen Alliance Wales

Entertainment Partners is delighted to announce that it is an official sponsor of Screen Alliance Wales, a leading not-for-profit which grows and promotes the talent, crew and services of the film and TV industry in Wales, United Kingdom.

Wales has firmly cemented itself as a booming film and TV hub in recent years, contributing to the United Kingdom’s global reputation as a world-class production centre. In 2021 the Welsh screen sector saw a turnover of £575m ($716m), a 36% increase compared with 2020.

Contributing to this spend are blockbuster films and high-end TV shows such as Havoc (Netflix), Willow (LucasFilm), His Dark Materials (HBO/BBC) and Sex Education (Netflix).

And Wales shows no sign of slowing down, with international production and film houses tipping it to compete on the world stage due to its vast choice of filming locations, combined 823,000 square feet of shooting space (split across seven studios) and highly skilled workforce.

To enable Wales to meet this demand and continue to attract big-budget productions, Cardiff-based production company Bad Wolf (now majority owned by Sony Pictures Television) founded Screen Alliance Wales in 2018.

Screen Alliance Wales aims to educate, promote and train local production crews and provide all local people – regardless of their backgrounds or experiences – access to opportunities within the Welsh creative industries.

To do this, Screen Alliance Wales offers a unique service, working with more than 35,000 people since its inception – from primary school children to graduates and professionals – through studio tours, education and training initiatives and work shadowing placements.

Screen Alliance Wales also helps studios and production companies to source and recruit local crew through its online database, which holds the details of almost 10,000 vetted crew.

As the industry continues to expand in Wales, Entertainment Partners is committed to investing in the next generation of production professionals and helping champion the Welsh film and TV industry.

Entertainment Partners’ sponsorship of Screen Alliance Wales is a reflection of this commitment and follows its recent sponsorship of The Production Guild of Great Britain’s new Scotland Committee, the fifth of six national regional committees being established in response to the continuing growth in film and HETV production across the UK.

In becoming an official sponsor of Screen Alliance Wales, Entertainment Partners joins the ranks of other notable film and TV bodies including HBO, Bad Wolf and the British Film Commission.
